Travel 105 km from Rovaniemi in a 2025 4x4 van, then hike 4 to 6 km through snowy forest and past towering frozen waterfalls. Guides such as Hugo, William, Pedro, and Vanessa share local nature stories, fit the pace to the group, and cook sausages with hot drinks over a campfire.

“Our guide on the day was Hugo. He made sure we understood what to expect from the drive up to the hike in terms of duration and stops. He was very enthusiastic and told us a bit about the forest and the region. I appreciated that he had to carry the hot water and food for the nine of us. It was nice to have warm hotdogs and tea after a few hours out in -15°C. He gave us the option of sliding down parts of the walking trail which was lots of fun.”

He told us some interesting facts about the area, including the reason why sliding on the hiking trail is prohibited (due to some serious injuries people use to get there, like fractured bones i.e.). Ironically, a few minutes after telling us this, another group came behind us and one child screamed and cried bitterly out of pain, after a hard landing. Another reason is, that the trails get really slippery, so they are not easily…”
