Mauritius: Tamarind Falls Highlights 3-Hour Hiking Trip

1.Mauritius: Tamarind Falls Highlights 3-Hour Hiking Trip

★★★★★★★★★★4.9 · 588 reviews · 3 hours · from $58Our pick

Meet your English or French-speaking guide at Henrietta Bus Station for a three-hour hike through sugarcane fields, rainforest, and volcanic canyon. You’ll visit several Tamarind Falls, swim in rock pools, and learn about local plants, wildlife, and Mauritius from guides such as Yudish, Olivier, and Jeremie.

“Olivier was a fantastic guide. He put everyone at ease with fluency in French and English and was focused on ensuring everyone safely enjoyed the experience. He was very clear with his briefing and was very knowledgeable about the region and what we were seeing. The hike was up and down the valley and so did require a level of physical capability to pick your way up and down the slopes….but Olivier was really helpful every step of the way. The hike goes through one of the most beautiful river valleys we have seen and will be an incredible memory for us all. Great experience and thoroughly recommended.”

3.Mauritius: 7 Waterfalls Hike with Lunch and Hotel Transfers

★★★★★★★★★★4.6 · 454 reviews · 5 hours · from $110

Follow a guide such as Daryeau or Darryl through the forest to all seven Tamarind Falls. Expect slippery rocks, steep sections, swimming, a fish foot spa, local plant stories, picnic food, and hotel pickup across Mauritius.

“Couldn’t fault the tour. You can get there easily wherever you are on the island. Our guide was great. It is a tougher hike with steep gradients, but so worth it. Wear a swimsuit under your hiking clothes and you’ll dry quickly enough to chuck clothes back on over the top. It was a group tour even though advertised as private which does mean you’re dictated but other people’s pace. Wear shoes with grip, bring insect repellent and bring your own water even though it says your guide will provide.”
